Misinformed public – Here’s what really happened……

As you may or may not know we have had some recent negative publicity surrounding the illegal sale of homekill meat and one of our directors Arron Ogle.

As a valued customer of ours we felt that it is necessary to inform you of our side of the story so that you can have a clear understanding of the situation that has been portrayed so badly in the media. The articles that have been written in our local paper and also nationally could potentially have a very negative affect on not only our business but the homekill industry in general.

We have owned Homekill Services now for three and a half years and in that time our business has gone from strength to strength. We have invested a lot of time and money into building our business to a standard which ourselves and our staff are very proud of. We are leading the way within the homekill industry and Homekill Services is Northlands most sought after homekill service. We have won multiple awards and have big plans in the future to continually grow and improve our service.

As most of you will know we manage a dairy farm also. We also run our own beef for homekill purposes. Homekill is the slaughter and butchering of your farmed animals for your own consumption or use.

Last year Arron sold a beast from our personal farm to a person who then intended to use some of it in her bakery. Unfortunately we were unaware of this, and her bakery was investigated by MPI and the meat was found to have been from Arron.   Due to Arron’s position within the company, it reflects badly within our company and the homekill industry.

Due to the media portraying the story so poorly, we wanted you to know the correct version of events and welcome your direct feedback or comments if you would like to contact us to speak with us directly.

We want you to know we appreciate your custom and look forward to continuing to provide you with a professional, efficient slaughtering and processing service.

Kind Regards,

Arron, Vicki and the team at Homekill Services Ltd

Can we buy a farmed beast of you???

      Good morning

Apologies for the delay in replying to you. In short, no – we are unable to sell meat. We merely slaughter & process meat for animal owners. Can I suggest that you check out the website for our sister company http://www.yourfreshmeatcompany.co.nz where you can order a “beast in a box” – either a whole, quarter or half a beast.

      Kind regards
